Susan Knowles wrote advising us about another Birds In Backyards survey... well that's good news.  I think.  It is important to find out what birds are in urban areas, and to assess the effects of some large aggressive species on other, smaller ones.
 
I am reminded however, of a saying that we have out here, west of the Great Sandstone Curtain (Dubbo), and that is: "Did you know? NSW stands for Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong."
 
 We do have birds out here.
