Dear champions (excluding North Queensland) I'm not sure that you birding fossil(fuel)s should claim to be part of a "new dynasty in competitive Australian birding" until you can beat 234 ! David James David until you Queenslanders abide by the rules and all finish at the same designated place you cannot claim to hold the record. Seriously though, there are two separate systems running and their results are not strictly comparable. Twitchathons in which all teams must finish at the same pre-designated place will always produce a lower score than those where each team can chose its own finish point. Therefore, the Victorian totals stack up remarkably well against those from richer environments such as e. Qld.
