Thanks for your comments.  It sounds to me that, even if these birds were 
still seen in Sydney/Australian east coast in 10 or 15 years time, you would 
still consider them "unnatural" and "feral" because of their lineage.  I 
certainly agree that sightings over a short period wouldn't warrant a formal 
extension of range etc. but I was wondering about over the longer term.  This 
is particularly so considering that our strange weather conditions are forcing 
birds to move around and turn up in all sorts of unexpected places.  

I also found interesting your comment about nearly all parrot species being 
phoned into Birdline in the last 2 years, so it appears you're keeping some 
sort of records about Birdline.  Is that right?  What format/software?  I'm 
wondering whether it would be useful to the BIGNET group and bird clubs that 
are looking at joining their bird observation records together and publishing
