That's a great record, Robert. Scrubwrens are still quite widespread in
suitably-vegetated areas along the banks of the Lane Cove River and its
tributaries, but I regard the vegetated lining of the sandstone cliff at
Woolwich Dock, near where the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers meet, as
marginal habitat for them. We often marvel at how plants can colonise
seemingly inhospitable areas (e.g. cliff-faces), but tend to forget that the
early plant colonisers can also provide new opportunities for early bird
colonists such as scrubwrens.
Kind regards,
Stephen

Subject: Scrubwrens in inner west Sydney
Greetings all
There is a resident population of Scrubwrens living in the vegetation lining
the sandstone cliff into which Woolwich Dock is emplaced.
