Dear Mr Roberts
Congratulations on another Night Parrot story.
Some comments to clear up a major factual error in your story:
You wrote ³South African birding tour Company Rockjumper is behind a
$25,000-a-head glamping tour to find Night Parrots².
This is despite the fact that when you contacted Rockjumper directly you
were told ³Please note that we are not involved or associated with any
Night Parrot searches.²
Furthermore, my private email to a friend, that you have somehow come into
possession of, says ³I¹ve been invited on an exclusive small group Trip²
Both these comments would correctly infer that Rockjumper is not ³behind²
any trip to look for night parrots.
It¹s correct that I was invited on such a trip in a personal capacity. I
then emailed a personal friend and invited him also. Neither I nor
Rockjumper Birding Tours had anything to do with the arrangements for this
trip and I would have paid full price if I had chosen to participate. I
decided not to participate for various reasons, as did my friend that I
invited, and as far as I am concerned that is the end of the matter and I
have had no further correspondence on this trip since last year when I
turned down the invitation. I do not even know whether the plans for the
trip have progressed or whether it was cancelled.
I respectfully request that you retract the false claim that Rockjumper is
behind any attempt to search for Night Parrots.
Yours truly
Adam Riley
