Hi All, I may be heading to Java (Yogyakarta to be precise) on a business trip later this year and I'm looking for the best bird field guide book for the region. I have the 2004 reprint of MacKinnon, J. & Phillipps, K. 1993. A Field Guide to the Birds of Borneo, Sumatra, Java and Bali (Oxford University Press, Oxford), but I wondered if there are other field guides that are just as useful or better. MacKinnon & Phillipps has texts describing distributions, but does not contain maps, plus the main text is in a separate part of the book to the plates . I'm also guessing that the taxonomy is a bit dated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Stephen Stephen Ambrose Ambrose Ecological Services Pty Ltd Ryde NSW

Birding-Aus mailing list

To change settings or unsubscribe visit:
http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org
|
