Regent Honeyeater
Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo , New South Wales
Another solitary Regent Honeyeater spotted today in the exact same spot (and time) as the birds spotted over the weekend at the Gibbon lake in the ironbarks to the right of the viewing shelter. It stuck around for 10 minutes, feeding and calling. [Moderator's note (NH): Thanks for the update, Andrew]

Regent Honeyeater
Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo , New South Wales
Spotted a pair of Regent Honeyeaters going from flower to flower in an ironbark tree on the edge of the Gibbon lake in the centre of the zoo. [Moderator's note (NH/AKM): Interestingly 2 pairs of Regent Honeyeaters were seen at the Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo on 15/10/1986. Anyway, there are not many records of this species for the Dubbo area in general over the years and not many records in NSW overall this year. Updates would be appreciated.]

Yellow-browed Warbler – A single observed on just one morning. Following on from one in March at Ashmore (on the Kimberley Birdwatching trip) this is the third record for Australia.
Pallas Grasshopper Warbler – A single observed on the same morning as the Yellow-browed Warbler. The third record for Australia. Unlike previous records we obtained some cracking views of this individual.
White-breasted Waterhen - An adult for one day was the second record for the reef and the second Australian record away from Christmas and Cocos Islands where there are established populations.
