Monday, May 12, 2014 to Sunday, May 18, 2014:

Date: Wednesday, May 14, 2014
Location: Carlton Farm dam, Jones Road, Hahndorf.
Pink-eared Duck (Malacorhynchus membranaceus) (21) Some swimming close to bank,
others loafing on shoreline with other waterfowl in S E corner of Carlton Farm
Dam.
Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) (5) With the above Pink-eared Duck.
Two Musk Duck, about twelve Blue-billed Duck, Shoveler, Grey Teal, Black Swan
and Black Duck also present. In all 22 species were seen on or adjacent to the
dam.
Note: On Thursday May 15th all of the above species were still present but had
been joined by 15 Great Cormorant and a compact group of 35 Hoary-headed Grebe
were feeding close to Jones Road.
