Fairy Tern (Sterna nereis) (3) 3 Fairy Tern in non- breeding plumage were seen
on the sand spit at high tide, one of which had a silver coloured band on the
left tarsus.

Location: Green Valley Strawberries, Woodside Rd, Nairne
Pied Butcherbird (Cracticus nigrogularis) (1) It was in a tree adjacent to the
carpark, being mobbed by various other birds.
I would have taken a photo if my arms weren't full of punnets of strawberries -
which I nearly dropped in amazement! It flew on before I could get one :(
***please note - this is not a contrived ad for Green Valley
Strawberries!!!....but their strawberries are very yummy :)

Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) (17) 17 seen. 15 on pond 11 and 2 on the
effluent ponds
Buff-banded Rail (Gallirallus philippensis) (1) One seen very well on muddy
edges in the northern corner of pond 11
Spotless Crake (Porzana tabuensis) (2) 2 seen well in the northern end of pond

Diamond Firetail (Stagonopleura guttata) (15+) 12+ were in one flock. Others
heard in the wider area as well.
