Restless Flycatcher

Seen around 2pm just off the left hand pathway besides the lagoon opposite where the Black Bittern has previously been seen. Very noisy flitting about in the canopy and only settled this once on the ground offering a shot.

Musk Lorikeet, Spotted Harrier
Ormeau Sports Field, Upper Ormeau Road, Ormeau
About 8 Musk Lorikeets flying between flowering Eucalyptus tereticornis trees with a mixed flock of Rainbow and Scaly-breasted Lorikeets. Alerted to their presence by call, then saw them well as they flew overhead. Red patches on forehead and cheeks and yellow "shoulders" obvious. Not seen on Gold Coast since 2010. Spotted Harrier also seen "floating" just above the long grass along the river at this site (only blurry photo obtained).

Spotless Crake
Sandy Camp Road Wetlands Reserve
One individual seen at the end of the second pond, near the three concrete pipes. While we arrived in the middle of the day, a lot of the smaller bush birds were quite active (full list linked). A nice day for a little walk.

Striped Honeyeater, Mangrove Honeyeater, Mangrove Gerygone + Curlew Sandpiper (6)
Port of Brisbane Island including visitor centre
The first three birds were seen feeding in the trees of the little carpark adjacent to the old visitor center lake. The visitors center has been demolished, but there were still good numbers of birds on the lake, surprisingly. The Sandpipers were seen at low tide from the Port of Brisbane hides.
