Hemnant / Lindum Wetlands off Kianawah Rd
Depending on whom I spoke to about the bird there seems to be some conjecture as to whether this is the Ruff or the Reeve. It is certainly quite a bit larger than the Sharpies . Waders not being my best subject will it for others more knowledgeable to decide

Lindum Wetlands
The Ruff reported early today was observed feeding in the western pond of Lindum Wetlands at 3 pm. Best accessed off Burnby Road. The single bird was seen amongst Sharp-tailed Sandpipers at the coordinates 27°26'52.7"S 153°08'19.0"E. Access was permitted by the owner.

Ruff still present this pm. Not seen on eastern end of wetland from Kianawah Road but seen on western end of wetland from Burnby Road. Most of wetland waders are on viewable from these two public roads.

1 Ruff seen feeding with Sharp-tailed Sandpipers during wader count at Kianawah Rd at 8 am this morning. Later seen at western end of wetlands (access via private property) Non-breeding plumage. ID confirmed by David Milton, Sandra Harding, Robert Bush & Deirdre Chrzescijanski. Robert Bush has photos.

In a group with Spectacled Monarch, Grey Fantail, Rufous Fantail, Yellow Robin, White Bowed Scrubwren, Variegated Fairy Wren, Golden Whistler, Lewins HE and Yellow Faced HE. Brown Quail a few metres away also. Nice spot....

Dinmore quarry pit
Out fossiling with members of the UQ Environmental Science Society (private access granted) along northeast part of the quarry. At high noon, heard distinctive two-tone call of a Weebill, followed by brief glimpse thru binoculars as it flew into high shrubs along the quarry rim. One Black Kite soaring at a distance around this time.

At least 2 birds flying around and under bridge. White chin and upper back visible. Up to 8 possibly but views of these were not clear and no clear photos obtained.
