Eastern Yellow Wagtail, Restless Flycatcher
Sandy Camp Road Wetlands Reserve
Eastern Yellow Wagtail still at the usual location. One Restless Flycatcher. Other birds of interest: 1 adult Nankeen Night-Heron, 2 Glossy Ibis, 2 Eastern Osprey (display flight), 1 adult Pacific Baza, 1 Australian Hobby, 1 Spotless Crake, 3 Marsh Sandpipers, 1 Shining Bronze-Cuckoo, 2 Leaden Flycatchers.

12+ Rainbow Bee-eaters just (11:55am) flew over our house in ENE direction.

Black Bittern
Coombabah Creek, Helensvale, Gold Coast, Qld
Immature bird watched in mangroves for 5 min at close range from kayak. Another immature bird seen from kayak a few days ago on 29/3/14, 6 km away in Coomera River above the Upper Coomera new bridge. Difficult access for both sites except from the river by boat/ kayak. Another Black bittern reported near here in the Coombabah Creek accessed from Tee Tree Wetlands recently.

Bowra Station Homestead/camping area
200+ Fork-tailed Swifts flying above the homestead after heavy rain around 7:50am. As low as 10m and calling loudly. The birds have been seen on the property for the rest of the week.

Australian Little Bittern (Black-backed Bittern)
Parklake Wetlands, Bli Bli
One juvenile Bittern in plain view for most of the three hours I was observing (06:30-09:30). No sign of the adult birds or the other juvenile today, however, the bird was foraging quite successfully for itself.
