3 Blue-billed ducks seen in the water near the intersection of Church St and the Esplanade (-42.302137,147.372453). Not especially rare for the area, but noteworthy.

Maria Island
A pair of Australian Shelducks were observed on the shores of the small lagoon near Bloodstone Point, down from the convict ruins at Point Lesur.

Paddock near Huon Highway, at Southport turn-off, GPS South 43 deg 24 min 32 sec, East 146deg, 57 mi
Two white-necked herons were observed in a paddock near several cattle.

Caspian Tern
Big Roaring Beach, near Surveyors Bay
A Caspian Tern was observed flying for some time quite close to shore. This is the first sighting of this species on this beach in eight years of bird watching.
