Common Sandpiper
Mouth of Hindmarsh River, Victor Harbour
A single specimen of a small wader on the banks of the Hindmarsh River at the mouth at Victor Harbour beach at 10:00am. The bird repeatedly leaned forward with its chest close to the sand (see photo). From Morecombe and Internet photos it looks like a common sandpiper, a new bird for me.
