Lake Poongkaliyarra is a seldom visited lake in the Pilbara and the home to
thousands of birds. Surprisingly it is not too far from the North Western
Coastal highway but should be on the itinerary of every bird watcher…

I've been visiting it regularly over the last year for its scenic beauty and
rich bird life.

“I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have
been only like a boy on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then
finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great
ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.” Sir Isaac Newton
