G'day Keith Lindsay et al. I have checked the PNGBS Newsletters and do not find any records of the Great-billed Heron (Giant Heron) away from the coastal lowlands and islands. ie there are no records of them in the hills or highlands. Cheers Mike Tarburton We have been told about three reliable sightings, over a period of three years, of Great-billed Heron at Malanda on the Atherton Tableland at an altitude of 700m.
