Harrison Dam Conservation Area
Square-tailed Kite (1) observed soaring over vegetated area of reserve. From quite a distance long and upswept wings set apart from black and whislting kites that were also in the area. Photo heavily cropped but enough for ID.

Adult pair seen in the top branches of trees at a private residence. Stayed for about 25 minutes before moving off together.

Excellent, if brief views on top of the escarpment. Also Sandstone Shrike-thrush, Chestnut-quilled Rock-Pigeon (3), White-lined Honeyeater (3), Helmeted Friarbirds and a Diamond Dove

Freckled Duck, White-winged Black Tern, Major Mitchell's Cockatoo, Welcome Swallow
Alice Springs Waste Stabilisation Ponds
Morning visit for water sampling. Still, cool, and overcast. A large ginger feral cat seen also.
Freckled Duck (8) None in breeding plumage. All in the very eastern end of EP7. Were initially in open water but headed toward the edge of the reeds where they hid for the remainder of the visit.
White-winged Black Tern (1) Single bird foraging busily. Non-breeding plumage.
Major Mitchell's Cockatoo (8) Roosting and preening in their usual spot at the southwestern edge of the wood lot.
Welcome Swallow (3) Possibly more, but certainly these three identified among the numerous Tree Martin.

Morning visit on an overcast day for water sampling.
Ground Cuckooshrike (1) Single bird harassing the perched kestrel before flying east into the AZRI block.

Hooded Parrot, Gouldian Finch
Jatbula (Edith Falls) Road
A large mixed flock of Hooded Parrots and Gouldian Finches (both black and red-headed), as well as other finch species (including Long-tailed and Masked Finches) were observed at close range from 7.40 am - 8.20 am, approx. 5.8 km from the Stuart Highway turn-off. Estimated number of Hooded Parrots was at least 60+.
