Wed 12 Jun Wilson's Storm Petrel Albatross Bay, wide - Weipa
Several birds seen throughout the course of the day. Not too unusual here but not very often recorded due to lack of observers.

Cotton Pygmy-goose Cattana Wetland, Smithfield, Cairns
Cotton Pygmy-goose (1) Male swimming with a small group of Green Pygmy-goose. Photos taken (but can't upload them until I get back to Sydney !) ID notes: White head with dark stripe over crown, buffish flanks unlike the scalloping of a Green Pygmy-goose. Posting to Birdline as there are no Eremaea records of Cotton Pygmy-goose at this site after nearly 100 lists, though there are several across the water at Yorkeys Knob.

Sun 9 Jun Freckled Duck Hasties Swamp
One only at,top end of swamp amongst Pacific Black Duck., Plumed Whistling-Duck and Pink-eared Duck. (Moderator Note:there has been 9 previous records for this species this year, the last on the 12 March).

Sat 8 Jun Red-necked Avocet Orient Road wetland, Toobanna, Ingham
Red-necked Avocet (8) Unusual to see this species in this northern Australian location. Scoped on the Orient Station wetland. Seen by all 15 members of Birdlife Townsville in attendance. Weather overcast and windy.

Fri 7 Jun Freckled Duck Mungalla Station (Forrest Beach, Queensland)
Freckled Duck (6) Unusual to see this species so close to the ocean. Photographed. Birdlife Townsville Campout at Mungalla Station. This list is only what species Len and Chris saw. Weather poor, showers overcast and very windy.
