Masked Lapwings on a roof

My father occupied an office overlooking the Eastern Lecture Theatres at
LaTrobe Uni (in Melbourne) for years.  The roof was covered by what
appeared to be river stones.

There were Masked Lapwings nesting on that roof nearly every year.
