Hi all, See here - http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=255028 Unless the observer has mistaken the location of the photo (which seems unlikely as he's checked after it was asked), there was a Purple Heron at Herdsman Lake in late February. Needless to say I've heard nothing of it being seen since (I was at the lake the day after the photos were taken!!). I think this would be a first for Aus?
