I understand that there is considerable interest for some birders in the correct application of grammar in public communication and other equally detailed topics of similar fascination ...

Given that these topics have often been discussed at length many times, is there a need for a Birding-Aus spin-off where threads on such subjects can run their natural course without deterring other birders from participating in BAus?

I would also like BAus subscribers to reflect on the impact of their responses to new participants on BAus - it is possible that some people may be put off by remarks that appear to be patronising. It is also important that people don't act like trolls, otherwise the moderators may have to fill the role of Big Billy Goat Gruff.

Ultimately like Andrew Stafford, I do find it interesting that people have more to say on the subject of capitalisation than the search for Night Parrots, so I guess it might be time for B-Aus/Pedant ...

Regards, Laurie.
