Location: On our property at Critchley Road, Rockleigh

White-fronted Chat (Epthianura albifrons) (1) We saw a single male bird, 
sitting on a large rock in a clearing in a direct-seeded area. This is species 
number 70 for our place. Is this a usual bird for the Eastern edge of the Mt 
Lofty Ranges ? We don't recall one being seen at Brown's Road, the nearest 
regular birding site for BirdsSA to our place.

Little Eagle (Hieraaetus morphnoides) (1) One Little Eagle at just above tree 
top height being harrased by Australian Magpie.

near the park's eastern boundary.

Location: Port Willunga. SA.

Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) (1) A single immature bird flew north into wind 
along the beach. It was harassed by two Magpies and flew to a power pole at the 
mouth of the creek where it remained for some time. The Magpies rediscovered it 
and it took off again and flew south over the sea and settled on one of the 
tallest posts of the ruined jetty. It remained there unmolested for more than 
20 minutes when I left.

Fork-tailed Swift (Apus pacificus) (50) ~50 Fork-tailed Swifts heading into a 
NE wind, passing inland from The Bluff at Encounter Bay at ~0915 during an 
incoming rain period and unsettled weather.

along with large numbers of Tree Martins and Welcome Swallows.

Black-shouldered Kite (Elanus axillaris) (1) Soaring over Kermode St in a stiff 
breeze as I walked to meeting.

Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) (1) Soaring over Palmer Place on my way 
home 90 minutes later.

junction of Balhannah Rd and Jones Rd.

Musk Duck (Biziura lobata) (2) One male and one female on same dam as 
Blue-bills.

Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) (1) Probably the same immature bird previously 
reported is still in the Port Willunga area and was seen gliding towards the 
north along the cliff face and last seen heading towards Maslin's Beach.

Hoary-headed Grebe (Poliocephalus poliocephalus) (20) 

Australian Shelduck (Tadorna tadornoides) (44) 

Sooty Oystercatcher (Haematopus fuliginosus) (14) 

Pied Oystercatcher (Haematopus longirostris) (31) 

Masked Lapwing (Vanellus miles) (90) 

White-faced Heron (Egretta novaehollandiae) (45) 

Yellow-billed Spoonbill (Platalea flavipes) (1) 

Common Greenshank (Tringa nebularia) (33) 

Todd River Estuary is always a sure place to find a good number of birds. 27 
Variety today. Large numbers of Swans and chestnut Teal, Red-cap Plovers 
running around.

Location: Salt Creek, Coorong N.P.

Brown Quail (Coturnix ypsilophora) (9) Flushed from sedges near the 
intersection of Loop Road and Princes Highway.

Painted Button-quail (Turnix varius) (1) Feeding beside the Nukan Kungun trail, 
about 1.5 km south of Salt Creek.

Beautiful Firetail (Stagonopleura bella) (2) In Myoporums opposite the general 
store!
