Brendan,
I live in Florida and have birded extensively throughout the United States
and would be more than willing to recommend key birding spots for your trip.
By follow-up e-mail, I will list my recommendations for Bird Books to use in
the field.
In exchange, I would like to pick your brain for key spots in eastern
Australia -- my wife and I are taking a belated honeymoon from September 30,
2013, through October 30, 2013. We fly into Sydney.
Trying to hit the key spots with enough time to enjoy them is a difficult
task. We're looking at Cairns, Daintree, Michaelmas Cay, and Tablelands in
Queensland; a few days in Sydney -- possibly a pelagic trip, the Mountains;
possibly Melbourne; and definitely Tasmania for a few days. We're
definitely open to suggestions:)
Thanks,
Dave

Subject: North American Field Guide
I am travelling on a whirl wind tour of North American in August, across
the south of the continent from LA to Miami before heading to Alaska.
I am hoping people have some advice on what bird guide best covers
America in it entirety. I have seen online that most series now have a
accompanying electronic guide.
I have read that the national geographic series and the Sibley series are
quite good.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!
Also information on bird sites are also welcome.
Thanks
Brendan Cook
