Published sightings for the week ending 24 Mar 2013.

Sat 23 Mar White Tern Southport Pelagic
One White Tern on yesterday's interesting pelagic. Unfortunately, keeping some distance. Also lots of Tahiti Petrels, Great-winged Petrels and a few early Providence Petrels in nice fresh plumage. A few very accommodating Pomarine Jaegers put on a show for the photographers on board.

White-necked Petrel Southport Pelagic
One rather aloof White-necked Petrel made a couple of distant passes soon after our arrival at the shelf.

Kermadec Petrel Southport Pelagic
At Least seven Kermadec Petrels on yesterdays Southport Pelagic. Most were intermediate morph with a couple of darker ones.

Fri 22 Mar Shining Flycatcher Kauri Creek, Tuan State Forest
14 birds in total - 4 pairs and 6 individuals

14 birds all up in mangroves seen from kayak - 8 pairs and 6 individuals - 5 males and 1 immature female

Wed 20 Mar Pink-eared Duck, Marsh Sandpiper Lytton Wader Roost and Boardwalk
A nice cloudy afternoon, observations from about 3:30 to 5. Heaps of waders present today. Highlights were 4 Marsh Sandpiper (on the left of the hide) and 9 Pink-eared ducks (to the right of the hide) - a new species for this site, apparently.
