Sun 17 Mar Australasian Shoveler Lytton Wader Roost
Three birds seen, one male and two females. Seen from the bird hide feeding in the middle of the brackish pool along with many Black-winged Stilts and Grey-tailed Tattlers.

Three over house at 9am. Sharing the airspace with two Black Kites. Both unusual species for area...

Brolga Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve
One bird in the freshwater lake at the western end of the reserve. Best seen from the bridge that passes over the Gateway motorway (Wyampa Road).

Sat 16 Mar White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike Postmans Track Section, Lake Samsonvale
Two birds hanging around in canopy at the gate, at ~4:30pm. Seen intermittently foraging and squabbling with the odd White-naped Honeyeater (which were abundant).

This is my 10th sighting of this species in my backyard this summer. I have lived here since 1986 and this is the first summer I have seen them.

Mon 11 Mar Australian Bustard Winton
158 seen from about 20kms north west and 30kms south east along the highway. One group of 30 odd birds. Conditions around Winton fantastic at the moment.

200 Plus ( very conservative estimate) in treees along Quart Pot Creek and town area.

Thu 7 Mar Halls Babblers Freckled Duck Lark Quarry Air Strip
5 Halls Babblers on north side of air strip. The big dam just before the Lark Quarry turn off had 1 Freckled Duck, 1 Pink-eared Duck, 1 Hardhead , 1 Australasian Grebe and 1 Hoary-headed Grebe, an odd assortment of singles !

Wed 6 Mar Flock Bronzewing ,Rufous-crowned Emu-wren , Halls Babbler, Bladensburg National Park Winton
1 Flock Bronzewing male very approachable just sitting on bare ground , flew away strongly when approached more closely, 5 Halls Babblers, about 2-3 kms before Logan Falls Turn off. 1 male Rufous-crowned Emu-wren 150metres south west of Logan Falls turn off.
