Some of you will know that Alan has been fighting a battle with Lung Cancer
since August of last year.
Unfortunately the fight is drawing to a close for our friend and at the time of
writing he is comfortable on a Morphine infusion with no active treatment. He
is at Royal Melbourne Hospital, comforted by his parents, sister, some friends
and other family members. It is a matter of hours before he passes away. He is
drifting in and out of consciousness. I stress to you that he is no longer in
pain and not suffering.
Alan loved nature photography and bird watching. His favourite sites were the
Western Treatment Plant in Werribee, Victoria, and the nearby Youyangs, and
Brisbane ranges. I remember being amazed at the shots he took of the
yellow-bellied Parrot at WTP.
He will missed by many of us.
