All I will be visiting Brisbane for work in three weeks time and could possibly add a day on to try and find Black Breasted Button Quail (and possibly some other good birds if I have time). I am aware of the Inskip Point site, which I could get to, but it does seem a long and expensive trip if I am not otherwise heading that way, including all the driving time when I could be birding! Are there are other sites where there is some degree of confidence in finding BBBQs closer to Brisbane that I could easily access if I have a day to spare (1 afternoon, 1 morning) and a hire car? I have seen some references in the archives to Gold Creek Dam and Enoggera Dam - which look to be pretty close together? Is this/are these a good spot?
