Black Honeyeater

Around 15:00 this afternoon, with thunder rolling to the north and east, I observed a lone male Black Honeyeater moving southwards through the large trees west of the Pipeline Road in Mulligan's Flat Sanctuary. I tried to follow but it was quickly out of sight.

Satin Bowerbird
Kellys Swamp & Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Fyshwick
Satin Bowerbird (1) Female - first seen in stand of young Wattle Trees near Fulica hide. It was partly concealed at first before emerging to perch in a nearby Eucalypt allowing for some dimly lit photos. [Moderator's comment: this is the first record reported to Eremaea of this species at this site.]
