Eric, the list server seems to have removed the attachment. Are you able to
upload it somewhere? Soundcloud.com and Freesound.org are good places to upload
sound samples.

Gidday All,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this bird call please? It's from
Magnetic Island, north Queensland and only calls pre-dawn, except once this
afternoon after the sun had set. I recorded this this morning, and the mp3 is
cobbled together from several recordings I made. It has been calling every
morning for about six weeks now. It is ventriloquistic and shy. I know all the
main calls of my usual backyard mixed flock of small birds, but this one has me
stumped. It often calls in association with a Little shrike-thrush.

The call of interest is the two-note whistle repeated throughout.

Any help appreciated

Eric
