Further to my posting last week, Pam Jones and partner Geof Christie report
that yesterday they saw and photographed two teal on Bechat Besar Swamp on West
Island, Cocos. One was the '[long-staying]' Eurasian Teal and the other they
called a Grey Teal. The photos are not the best but show that the second bird
is either a Grey Teal (a first for Cocos) or a Sunda Teal (first for
Australia). This is evidently the bird reported mid-winter.
