Coincidentally, I had the same thought. I have done a bit of looking on the net
and there does not seem to be any evidence pointing to it being a problem. I
have been traveling round SE Asia pretty widely, where it is widely used as an
ornamental species and have not seen any growing in the wild. As it seems to be
a fairly recent recent introduction, AQIS would have have put it through the
hoops pretty well on its potential as a weed.
Having said all that, I suppose we will have to wait and see for a century or
so, just look at species like Coreopsis.
