Birdline Tasmania

Published sightings for the week ending 19 Aug 2012.

Tue 14 Aug Black Currawong Sandy Bay, View Street
Black Currawong - A single bird sitting on the top of a cypress pine next to the Child Care Centre at the bottom of View St. Thought it was a raven and didn't pay much attention but then it called. Looked more closely and saw the large bill and white under the tail. Very surprised to see the bird in the middle of Sandy Bay, almost down at the water line.
Ian L.

Mon 13 Aug Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo Ulverstone
32 birds flying east in the morning over the centre of town, and then "some" (? total number) flying west again in the evening
John and Shirley Tongue

Birdline Tasmania is sponsored by Eremaea Birds and co-ordinated and hosted by Eremaea Birds.
