I don't know how much impact these petitions have, but at least
it helps me feel I'm doing something!

I apologise in advance if this contravenes any Birds Aust policy,
but I reckon readers and subscribers of this site are the one
group of people who should have the opportunity to sign and,
judging by the recent threads, there's a number of people who are
opposed to the planned action.

Cheers

Colin

Hi Colin,
New South Wales is home to thousands of threatened species, such
as flying foxes and the Southern brown bandicoot. Protecting
these animals ought to be paramount, but now they're in danger
due to the greatest threat of all: human hunters.
[6]Tell NSW that these animals don't deserve to be exposed to
this peril! »
In a move to gain the Shooters and Fishers Party's support, the
state government struck a deal allowing recreational hunters
access to 79 New South Wales nature reserves, national parks, and
other conservation areas for pest control purposes. But their
promises to supervise hunters don't hold up.
The Shooters party's website claims that parks will not be
closed when they hunt and there won't be any close supervision by
NP staff. So how, exactly, will this prevent hunters from running
wild?

Without strict supervision, the resulting chaos caused by this
decision could lead to irreversible damage. It endangers both the
humans and animals of New South Wales.

[7]Tell Premier Barry O'Farrell to reverse this decision before
the law goes into effect 27 December this year. »
