Sat 14 Apr Black Bittern Undara Experience
Flushed from fallen paperback along Swamp Walking Track, 1445hrs.

Black Bittern Townsville Town Common Conservation Park
Black Bittern (1) Flushed from track-side on newly (and only partly) cleared 'Plant Walk', from near the small boardwalk.

Fri 13 Apr Sooty Oystercatcher Townsville Breakwater
Three birds on the Ross Creek side of the breakwater. Very approachable.

Sun 8 Apr Pictorella Mannikin Bladensburg National Park (20km SSE of Winton)
4:00pm Sunday 08/04/2012: - 2x Pictorella Mannikins seen near the Engine Hole intersection on the main Route of the River Gums. 8:00am Monday 09/04/2012: - 4 x Pictorella Mannikins seen at the Bough Shed camp ground near the "Grub Medlin" grave site between the self-registrtation shelter and the camp toilet. Unusually out of accepted range. Note: - Good feeding seeding grasses through out the area, with extreme numbers of Zebra Finches about.

Fri 6 Apr Flock Bronzewing Kennedy Developmental Road (Hughenden - Winton)
First of about 10 small flocks of Flock Bronzewing sighted 93 km SSW Hughenden about 8:30am Friday 06/04/2012. Flying across road and in paddocks presumably drinking from road borrow pits and cattle dams. Biggest flock of about 30 flushed from roadside dam near Vellum Downs Homestead. Smaller flocks continued for about 30km of travel until about 5km NNE of the Town of Corfield. Then on Monday 09/04/2012, on our return journey, we saw a couple of small flocks near the Vellum Downs Homestead.
