Arctic Jaeger
Weipa
A young Arctic Jaeger was found at a building site in Weipa and handed to me as my partner is the local wildlife carer. The bird is very exhausted from some bad monsoon weather of late. Identification is based on 4 white primary shafts and small, pointed central tail feathers, although no field guide I have shows it's current stage of plumage very well. Currently we are seeking advice from any sea bird carers regarding this species - if any one has any information, please email me -

off Strand opp Aquarius North ward
Initially one, about 9am after "mini tornado". Then two. At lunctime a group of 7. (Also later reported #125028 - Alex Canton)
