Grey Goshawk
Mt Elliot Drive, Alligator Creek
A grey goshawk landed on my roof above my door (just as I was leaving) and the noise of the claws on the roof made me turn around and spot it. It sat there looking at me for a few minutes, then it flew a few metres to a branch above the roof and sat there for five minutes before flying off. Might be the same one spotted recently in Alligator Creek Rd? But I didn't notice anything obviously wrong with it and it flew off okay.

White-streaked Honeyeater
Awonga Point Paperbark swamp, Weipa
Observed more than a dozen WS Honeyeaters feeding in paperbark flowers in the afternoon. Many other honeyeater species were present. This is by far the most of this species I've seen at once and the first time I've seen them in Weipa.
Also heard a single Boatbill, unmistakable call, in the same area, although the bird couldn't be located to be seen, another first for me in Weipa.
