On 18th March I saw a Malleefowl near the Kiata campground, Little Desert NP. I located the bird by tracking down a high-pitched whistle "peee-eep peep" sometimes repeated twice. This call was heard at intervals throughout the weekend, &at one point two birds were seen (by another observer). This call, which seemed like a contact call, is not described in HANZAB. Is anyone else familiar with this call?
