Melbourne Water have asked me to inform birders and researchers that they plan to do some burning of paddock vegetation around A Section (immediately to the north of the Paradise Road ponds) during the period mid April to mid May, whenever the weather conditions are judged to be suitable. If you intend to visit the WTP during the next few months could you please ring beforehand to be advised of any road closures or other restrictions (it is a permit requirement to do this anyway). To state the obvious, you should not be surprised to see smoke and there will be no need to report it.
