Hi Friends, I have just been entering the data for Thickbilled Grasswren in my database for my website: http: www.worldbidinfo.net. I read how much the range of the species had declined due to the impact of grazing by cattle and sheep in the arid and semi-arid country, and that the bird has been extinct for many decades in New South Wales. Does anyone think it might be a good idea to reintroduce some birds of the modestus race into the Sturt National Park, given that with stock excluded for several decades, that park is now giving us an idea of what the Australian inland looked like before the start of stock grazing. Let me know what you think.
