I was amused by the "Blue-crested Hoopoe", on Midsomer murders, as if just
Hoopoe is not enough. I think someone had a spare stuffed Hoopoe specimen
and thought what can we do with this, let's write an episode of Midsomer
Murders. Did you also notice that an Eastern Rosella was also shown in some
stage of being prepared? How would that have got there?
It made bird people look pretty dopey. Though some of us get a bit excitable
too.
I agree about the awful sound effects used in these TV shows. They are so
tedious, predictable and contrived........ As Wendy said "A little less of
the obligatory ?fox? calls and ?magpie? calls that seem to continuously
punctuate the show representing 'night' = ?fox? and 'day' scenes Eurasian
Magpie chacker, chacker call." Also it seems that always and only Ravens or
maybe Rooks exist whenever a cemetery is in the story.
