The arithmetic is a bit against the OBPs unfortunately. Annual survival rate for OBP adults is thought to be near 65% and nearer 50% in the first year. So on average 14 of 21 adults and 6 of 12 juveniles will make it back to Melaleuca next summer - 1 down from this years 21. Hopefully the other females have produced offspring, and conditions are good in victoria so survival rates are better than average Andrew |
