Buller's Shearwater
Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island
A conservative estimate of 12+ past Point Lookout this morning, as a large feeding flock of Wedge-tailed Shearwaters, Sooty Terns, Common Noddies and other terns broke up to the north of the lookout and birds passed the headland heading south amongst Wedge-taileds. Earlier sightings in the watch considered to be same bird(s) doing a loop, but latterly in the watch none were seen to go north again as the feeding flock dispersed.
Also a distant and brief cookilaria sp., female Lesser Frigatebird over the headland, two Arctic Jaeger and a few Hutton's/Fluttering Shearwaters.
Three Wandering Tattler on the rocks below the viewpoint.
