Sun 15 Jan Oriental Cuckoo Anstead Bush Reserve
One at Anstead Bush Reserve this morning. Also by the river an Intermediate Egret in breeding plumage with bright red legs and a black bill (possibly very dark red - the light was pretty dull). I can find no references to IEs with black bills - and it wasn't a Little, nor an Eastern Great.

Sooty term South Stradbroke Island
juvenile bird observed patrolling the coast line around the sand pipe. Single animal seen on two occasions amoungst a large mixed flock of Crested and Little terns.

Thu 12 Jan Plum-headed Finch Cement Mills
Plum-headed Finch (4) 4 birds perched on fence line east-side of road ca. 1km south of Gore. Wet rank grassy area

Wed 11 Jan Horsfield's Bushlark Cement Mills Road
Horsfield's Bushlark (3) 3 birds on perched on top fence line on east side or road. Brown form with streaking on breast, white edges to tail, fluttering flight with droopy tail.

Grey Goshawk Bundaberg
It was sitting on the roof of my bird cage in the backyard and then flew into a tree. Unfortunately appears to have an injury but was flying ok.

Sun 8 Jan Spotless Crake MInnippi Parklands
8:30am Sunday. Very distant views (from E side of lake) of single bird on the southern tip of the island. It then flew across and landed on the narrow low dike that almost separates the two parts of the lake. (severely cropped photo attached)

Probably a pair, off the boardwalk in the paperbark swamp, close to the entrance along Acacia St. One bird seen well, the other poorly. Coords -25.11283, 152.56472

Semipalmated Plover Bundaberg
Found by Chris Barnes near Bundaberg on privately owned land. Since seen by Nev & Jann Capell, Bill & Jack Moorhead. 2 further expeditions on Fri afternoon and Saturday morning failed to find it.

Two birds were seen in garden which is near forest and close to fields - both moved to near dam close by-had been heard calling days prior to sighting
