Hi Chris (and others), Had a tours over the last couple of days and there were
a few Turqs at Chiltern (Bartleys and Cyanide Dam) but heaps (over a dozen) in
the Warby Ranges. Many pairs have bred and were seen with young birds. Closer
to Wagga you could try The Rocks as mentioned, Table Top Reserve, the hills
around Albury but they are a little scarcer here and probably (at least in my
experience) easier to see in Victoria. This time of the year they birds are
quite skittish and wary and you will need to approach them with care. Be
patient if they zit-zit-zit off into the forest as they often come back to
where you found them for what they may have been feeding on. Good luck,
Michael.
