Hi All,

Spent most of the day checking out a few wetland sites on the east side of
Brisbane, turning up a few good species.

At Dowse Lagoon, Sandgate, there was a flock of perhaps 15 Whiskered Terns and
a single Glossy Ibis.

At the wetlands off the end of Toombul St there was at least 8 Red-kneed
Dotterels, 4 Red-necked Avocets and several Sharp-tailed Sandpipers.

Buff-banded Rails were seen at three different spots.

At Minnippi there was a pair of Channel-billed Cuckoos and an Australian Koel.
Surely the first time I've seen my first-of-season Koel before hearing one.

Any questions let me know.

Regards and good birding!

Nick Leseberg
