White-breasted Whistler and Arafura Fantail
Karumba
On a trip with Glen and Allison Newman (Ferryman Birdwatching) along the lower reaches of the Norman River several White-breasted Whistlers were seen (males and females) and at least 2 Arafura Fantails. The Arafura Fantails are not usually seen in the lower Norman until later in the year apparently. Also present Mangrove Grey Fantail and other mangrove species. Red-headed Honeyeater and Zitting Cisticola
Karumba
Along the landward side of mangroves northeast of the esplanade towards Shelly Beach; male and female Red-headed Honeyeaters and a pair of Zitting Cisticola, along with several Mangrove Gerygone and Yellow White-eyes. Easily accessible on public land. Photo of male included.

Pair in Mangroves across channel from Gununa Community on Mornington Island, Seen or heard regularly at four Mangrove sites on eastern end of the Island.

Elegant Imperial Pigeon
Queensland
It has just come to our notice from Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service that there were two unconfirmed Elegant Imperial Pigeon sightings back in February 2011 around the time of Cyclone Yasi. We have put a few more details on our blog.
