Wow - great! Interestingly your bird (at least on the single photo on eremaea) 
- and here I disagree with you, Martin - has an underwing pattern more similar 
to the Ulladulla bird than to the Port Stephens and Wollongong birds last year. 
Would be interesting to see more photos of your bird!

Here some photos of the Wollongong bird (first three), then the Ulladulla bird 
and then one at Hauraki Gulf NZ (last seven pictures) for comparison:

Have a look at this photo - I've only had 2 mins to downlaod photos so far as i 
was dragged out by my wide for beers at a nrighbour when i walk in the door!

we had a 'New Zealand' type storm-petrel off Southport today in view on and off 
for c. 90mins.
