Hello all. I have just returned from a journey to the southern states, and,
since I have limited experience with some of the species I've photographed,
I am seeking some ID confirmation.
Bird 1 was photographed at a roadside rest stop north of Wanganella in NSW.
It was in open country. I think it is either a Pink robin or a Flame robin.
I am leaning towards Flame because it looks as if it may have white along
the tail edge (although I don't recall noticing this on the live bird.
Bird 2 looks slightly larger than a Common Tern. The bill is long and I have
a blurry photo of the underwing which shows no dark trailing edge. I am
leaning toward White-fronted Tern which I've seen in NZ but only in breeding
plumage. It was taken at Waitpinga Beach in SA.
Bird 3 & 4. Taken at Mt Lyndhurst Station. (I'm not 100% sure it's the same
bird) Either an Elegant Parrot or a Blue-winged. I am leaning towards BW
parrot because the frontal band seems to stop dead at the eye, although the
wing seems to have less blue than in the field guides.

I would be interested in any comments.
