Sat 23 Apr Sooty Owl Mapleton Forest Reserve, Sunshine Coast
1 seen well, a second bird calling

Fri 22 Apr White-bellied Sea-Eagle, Pacific Baza, Brown Goshawk, Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos Brookfield SEQ
All from my balcony this morning. The Bazas were displaying. Also lots of Straw-necked Ibis moving around. Last weekend I also had Square-tailed Kite again and an adult Wedge-tailed Eagle.

Thu 21 Apr Russet-tailed Thrush, Paradise Riflebird, Grey Goshawk, etc Binna Burra, Lamington National Park
Birding was a bit slow this morning, but did give some highlights. Russet-tailed Thrush was heard calling, as was Noisy Pitta. Good views of all 3 bowerbirds and a Paradise Riflebird practising his display. Brush and Fan-tailed Cuckoos everywhere, along with a Grey Goshawk passing over a few times. Logrunners were in abundance and a solitary Pheasant Coucal sat on the road near the entrance to the park.

Sun 17 Apr Noisy Pitta Mount Gravatt - Brisbane Southside
Window strike at home - 5.30 pm (daylight). Home adjoins forest reserve mostly containing dry eucalyptus forest. Bird appeared unaffected and flew to neighbour's house. Not located again. Unusual location, but 2nd recorded at home in past couple of years....first one was dead when located.

Powerful Owl, Owlet Nightjar seen and a Boobook Owl calling nearby at 7.30pm during spotlighting at JC Slaughter Falls carpark area, Brisbane.
