Birdline South Australia

Published sightings for the week ending 17 Apr 2011.

Thu 14 Apr Chestnut-rumped Heathwren Morialta Conservation Park
approx. 500m beyond peak/lookout area on flatter section of otherwise steep trail, in small patch where dense shrub understorey gives way to small area of dense lomandra (or flax?) on eastern (high) side of trail. Responded to my 'pishing' coming quite close giving very good views. (2).

Mon 11 Apr Osprey, Grey-tailed Tattler Port Clinton 10' Cell
Osprey: One bird observed from bay at end of Kulpara St. Flying above mangroves to the north, flew out to sea three times (still within scoping range) diving into water twice and then returning to same area of mangroves north of town in Cons.Pk. (1). Grey-tailed Tattler: Teresa Jack has twice reported GTT's from Pt. Clinton in recent weeks, I was able to find them easily today at the beach/bay area adjacent to Kulpara St. However, I counted 9 in total. (9).
